The Story

It's too nice outside to be inside.

Alex has a brand new video game and he is desperate to play it. But his mum and dad keep sending him outside โ€” and no matter how many chores he finishes, the great outdoors keeps calling.

When it finally starts raining, Alex settles in for a proper gaming session. But the rain doesn't stop. And Alex won't stop playing. Not for his dad. Not for a plumber. Not even for the Army.

A funny, warm story that every family will recognize โ€” and every kid will love.

About the Author

Paul Burch

Paul grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Regina. Surrounded by a large extended family and a love of storytelling, he wrote Go Play Outside! in 2010 โ€” before smartphones were in every pocket and tablets were in every backpack.

He teamed up with illustrator Josh Burns, a Moose Jawโ€“born artist whose vibrant style was shaped by the likes of Richard Scarry and Maurice Sendak. Together, they created a book that's just as relevant today as the day it was written.

Paul is also the founder of Omni Online, a web design and digital marketing company based in Saskatchewan.
